what Tine (and TOD) collect, in plain words.
Tine runs the sites, streams, queues and logging for a bunch of VRChat communities. this page says what gets collected, where it goes, and how to make it stop. all Tine terms and policies stand within TOD too — the app is part of the same service.
what gets collected
- which VRChat instance a connected TOD client is in, the world's name, and the players in that instance
- when a group is open, who's operating, and basic stats like player counts
- moderation events and logs for the groups that use Tine (kicks, bans, that sort of thing)
- your Tine staff account info — username, email, and what permissions you hold
- if you link VRChat inside TOD: your display name and user id, so the logs say who's reporting
- Tine Tunes request history — who asked for what song and when (it's how the queue remembers your requests)
what never gets collected
- passwords — the VRChat login is a straight line between your machine and VRChat's servers. Tine never sees it, stores it, or forwards it
- your VRChat auth session — it stays in the app on your device
- anything the app can't see — it reads the same client log VRChat writes anyway
where it goes
data lands on the Tine servers and is visible to the staff of the groups it belongs to. it isn't sold, shared with advertisers, or shown publicly. presence/position data is short-lived by design (minutes, not archives).
